Jazz On 34th Street: a Tribute To Thelonious Monk
A show designed to pay tribute to renowned jazz artist; Fire & Ice: A Rendezvous with Jazz is the bridge connecting legendary artistry with new musicians that have the aptitude to be Jazz greats. And to kick off this phenomenal series, we will be celebrating the 90th birthday year of an extraordinary element to jazz: Thelonious Monk. Some of the highlights from the show include Jazz extraordinaire Ben Riley and his band; Ben Riley's Monk Legacy Septet, who just released a new cd, Memories of T, which was produced by the five time Grammy award winner, Don Sickler. Other performers include Carolyn Leonhart and Wayne Escoffery. The show is scheduled for January 26th 2008. Doors are at 6:30pm and show starts at 8:00pm. This will be an evening never to forget.
